Whether you are a parent, planning to be one or simply just acquainted with those who have children, we believe that gospel-centric truths will make the difference in understanding how to effectively raise godly children. We believe that life can only be properly understood when viewed through the lens of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, only when we understand our role as parents in light of Christ’s death for our sins and resurrection for our life, can effectively apply God’s Word to ourselves and our children. Three primary ministries reinforce our parenting Ministry and lead to deeper levels of commitment along the path of “Know, Grow and Go” are: Worship Services, Sunday Classes/Electives, and Small Groups.
We encourage our parents to attend our parenting electives. The parent should first read Shepherding a Child’s Heart. The parent would then attend a 10-week video series based on Shepherding a Child’s Heart. This elective will be given Sunday mornings in the Fall and Winter quarters. The elective will be facilitated by the staff and selected trained parents.
Tedd Tripp authored Shepherding a Child’s Heart and has developed a video series for a parenting elective. This elective is both for parents of young children as well as parents of our youth. Each week you will read a chapter in Tedd’s book and on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. view his corresponding video series. Selected parents will then facilitate class discussion. This elective will be held in the Fall and Spring.
