Current Electives
  • Apologetics
    Apologetics is the area of Christian theology which focuses on the defense of the Christian faith, particularly through the rational justification of Christian belief and doctrine. This will be offered in the winter of 2008.
  • CROWN: God’s Way of Handling Finances
    This 10-week study will introduce you to some building blocks for biblical stewardship.
  • Foundational Doctrines of the Christian Faith
    This 10-week elective is for those who want a Biblical overview of the key doctrines of our faith. This will be offered in the fall of 2009.
  • Growing to be Like Christ
    This is a life changing 10 week course that will ignite you with a passion for God and His purposes for your life.
  • I'm a New Christian
    A 13 week (one-on-one) elective to help you as a new Christian.
  • Marriage Building
    A 10-week Sunday morning elective that is offered in the Fall and Spring. Married couples are taught the biblical principles that will enable them to build a Christ-honoring marriage.
  • Newcomers
    Our Newcomers Class is a basic introduction to our church family.
  • Parenting Elective
    This September we are offering a 15 week elective based on Tedd Tripp’s “Shepherding a Child’s Heart” video series. The class will use his book and study guide and will be faciliteated by Cherrydale staff and parents. This elective begins September 14, 2008.
  • SHAPE—Use What God Gave You to Serve Him
    This afternoon seminar is designed to help you discover your life mission by learning your SHAPE: discovering your Spiritual gifts; surfacing your Heart’s passion; reviewing your Abilities and talents; seeing how your Personality fits withyour passion, and finally, mixing in your life Experiences.
  • Vision for the Nations Part I
    This introductory 3 week course gives the Biblical basis for Missions, the history of the modern Missions Movement, and a peek into the current state of the world and the Missions task that remains.
  • Vision for the Nations Part II
    This 5 week elective continues on from Vision for the Nations Part I (though Part I is not a prerequisite to take this course). This course will look at more detail at the current state of the world and the Missions task that remains, communicating the Gospel cross-culturally, and various contemporary Missions issues, such as church planting, Short-term Missions Trips, mercy ministries, etc.
Leadership Electives
  • Small Group Shepherds Training
    This training is for potential small group shepherds. We will present the scriptural basis for small groups, Cherrydale’s strategy and the role of shepherding in small groups.
