Overseas Adoption
Since the Korean War, Americans have looked overseas to adopt children. Television pictures of Romanian orphanages attracted interest there in the early 1990’s. Then Russia opened up. Now Americans are grabbing up the thousands of unwanted baby girls in China and East Asia. The number of foreign adoptions has doubled in the past decade to over 18 thousand a year. But going overseas is not always cheap or easy. WKSU’s Mark Urycki reports…
