Feb. 20, 200x
WKSU and Marcus Thomas LLC, one of the region’s leading integrated communications firms, received four 2004 Cleveland ADDY awards from the Cleveland Advertising Association. Ceremonies were held on January 23 at Windows on the River. The Cleveland ADDYs are the first step in a three-tiered national competition.
Winning entries included a Silver Award in the Consumer Magazine, four-color ad category for “VW in the Desert—Magazine;” and Certificates of Merit for “Time Spent Listening” in the Consumer Magazine Campaign, less than four-color category; “Clone” in the Consumer Magazine, four-color ad category; and “VW in the Desert—Newspaper” in the Newspaper—Fractional Page, color category. All ads were produced under the supervision of WKSU Public Relations Director Robert Burford by the Marcus Thomas team of Creative Director Joanne Kim, Art Director Laura Seidel, and Writer Roger Frank with additional photography assistance from Photographic Edge.
WKSU Public Relations Director Bob Burford says, “This is our third year working with Marcus Thomas, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The team of professionals that service WKSU have created a look for our advertising campaigns that is smart and informative, with a sense of humor.” Adds WKSU General Manager Al Bartholet, “Although it’s always nice to see station projects being recognized with awards, the most important aspect of WKSU’s relationship with Marcus Thomas is the agency’s ability to capture the essence of our public radio programming and help us connect with potential listeners throughout Northeast Ohio.”
