In this program from the WKSU In Performance archives, the Akron Symphony performs a classic of film music, the “Parade of the Charioters” from Miklos Rosza’s music for Ben Hur. They’ll also play Schumann’s Konzertstueck for Four Horns (2003 concert). We’ll hear the Gabrieli Trio’s 1984 reading of Beethoven’s String Trio #4 in D, Op9 #2, and the Gryphon Trio will play Dvorak’s Dumky Trio (Op90). Finally, we’ll have a selection from the Canton Symphony’s Wagner concert of spring 200x—the prelude to Die Meistersinger.
