Description
“Bookpool LLC, an Internet bookstore specializing in technical books at large discounts, held its annual bookmark contest, in which Chris Duncan [of PixelGood], a visual communications designer, placed a winning entry [far right]. Artists from all over the world sent in bookmark designs and the resulting 1,436 entries and 81 top contenders were pared down to 3 winners. Mr. Duncan—the only U.S. winning entrant—placed 2nd.
The contest was sponsored by Adobe Systems, Peachpit Press, Adobe Press, and New Riders—publishers of imaging software and books.”
Thoughts on Design
This standalone piece grabs attention, and is a physical reminder to customers about their Bookpool purchase experience. The bookmark would have only seconds to make an impact, and rallied around a strong headline.
To that end, the approach appeals to its two types of customers: the creative and the technical—the right-and-left brained.
