Folk Alley detours around today’s crowded music marketplace, and points to a diverse community celebrating the rich fullness of the folk music genre.

Streaming music plays on demand 24/7, featuring the best in singer/songwriter, Celtic, acoustic, traditional, & world sounds.

User-centric features, such as community-based blogs, artist/song info/purchase, media kits, etc., equip listeners as partners in growing the folk music community.

Thoughts on Design

“Unconventional, discovery, movement, direction, and community” are strong keywords used to describe the music, and after a few brainstorming sessions, FolkAlley resulted as the brand name for the service.

An identity package was designed to visualize the theme, and the concept was extended throughout various promotional materials. The idea of discovery is represented in the website through an “alley” concept—a journey off the beaten-path leading to other (musical) destinations.
