Combining provocative ideas, thoughtful analysis, and tested approaches, Understanding by Design offers teachers a clear path to the creation of curriculum that ensures better learning and a more stimulating experience for students.
This companion website allows users (teachers, admins, etc.) to create, assign, or review lesson plans for use in the district, school, or classroom. In addition, plans can be managed, shared, and exchanged by peers and “expert-review” moderators.
Thoughts on Design
For practical application, the website provided tools for users to test their newfound knowledge, as learned from the book. For consistency, the designs from the print materials were adapted to be the visual basis for the Web application.
Several webpage templates were designed for the team’s developers to implement.
